Automated Selling Technology

Chapter 8

Efficiency is the key to more time off, more time spent on important projects and more money in less time for you. The more you can automate - the more efficient you can be.

Automated Selling is easy. It can be done with web sites and over a toll free or local automated order line.

  1. Using a web site for automated selling.
    • This is the best method because you can place a lot of graphical information on the internet and it doesn’t cost you any more than your monthly hosting fees - no matter how much time someone spends on your site.
    • Orders can be placed automatically and if you are drop-shipping (orders go directly to the wholesaler and are shipped from them to the customer) you can avoid inventory and shipping processes.
    • Most hosting companies have virtual storefronts and some sort of e-commerce solutions available for extra fees.  You can also have a web designer build you an online store.
    • Another method is to be a reseller of a product and have a customized link to your reseller order form.
    • If you are prescreening people for sales and gathering information, you can build simple forms that people fill out and submit.  Most web site authoring software comes with this capability but forms submittal can be tricky.
  2. Using an automated telephone system for selling.
    • There are two systems for this;
      • Hardware based (PBX/Key Systems) and Software based (Virtual Office Systems). We’ve already covered both positives and negatives previously.
      • In the Virtual Office System, this automated selling feature comes as an option or as standard in a upgraded monthly package selection.
      • In the Hardware based system, this is a feature that must be programmed with the equipment at the same time as installation or at a later date.
    • Automated Order Taking: Programming either PBX or VOS extensions to ask callers as many questions as needed, one at a time, recording their responses will provide you with necessary order information. Or, you can prescreen prospective buyers with this method. It would work for prescreening job applicants or other misc. applications as well. Messages are then delivered to you as a single message - much like the internet form is delivered to you via e-mail or database entry. Grow your business with RingCentral
    • Automated Sales Brochures: Programming/recording a menu driven audio brochure that will guide callers easily through your services and products.  Making automated sales a possibility even if you are away.
  3. Fax-back/Fax-on-demand combined with automated selling.
    • Get rid of your fax machine. Try RingCentral
Using this feature that comes with the Virtual Office Systems (VOS) is an extremely efficient way to keep people interested. If they get tired of listening to the “audio brochure” or run low on time - they can request a hard copy flyer or brochure to be sent automatically (with no intervention on your part) to their fax machine. Now that’s Automated AND Efficient!!
  4. A smart Entrepreneur will use all 3 methods; Internet Web Site, Telephone, and Fax-Back. Virtual Phone & Fax Service for your Business
