If you have decided to go the Virtual Office System route, then you probably realized that it carries some advantages financially and technically over the PBX and other hard-wired systems in most cases.

You may not have realized that there is a method (which is not known by most people) that you can order your system which doesn’t cost any significant amount more and could either end up paying for what you were already going to order - or even pay over and above the cost of your VOS itself to create a profit.

• How to make money or have your system pay for itself:
• Some Virtual Office Service Providers, conferencing companies and long distance companies offer to have entrepreneurs join a reseller program.
• The cost is usually a small amount (ie, a $50 or less - one time fee) over and above what you were going to pay for a VOS in the first place.
• While you use your system anyway, you have the opportunity to sell their products on the side.  Especially for Realtors or other “networking-associated” businesses it can really be an easy sell. This is because the people you associate with see you using it and want to use it as well.  Also, people with existing sites can place links in their sites to sell.
• Most service providers pay a respectable commission. In some cases the commissions are cumulative and residual, which means that as long as your customer remains a customer - you’ll keep getting a percentage of that customer’s monthly bill in your pocket. Rates we’ve seen have been anywhere from 2% to 20% of monthly residuals up to 70% for a first time sale.  While you definitely aren’t going to get rich - it could pay the costs of your system or it could make a car payment or something.  Again, nothing happens unless you make it happen.  Nothing is a free ride.
• You’ll want to look at what each company offers and compare. Most are similar programs and there are a few who offer this. • It can be a pretty good deal if you handle it the right way.
